Join our team!

This is an exciting time of growth and organisational development for Girls Rock London and we are currently recruiting for three incredible roles – a Co-Director, Trainee Music Leader and Trustees – as we scale up and deliver more high-impact programming for our communities.

We are looking for people who share our values and are passionate about supporting young and adult women, trans people, and non-binary people to grow and develop through music.

Lived Experience: as an organisation we are committed to tackling inequality through our programming, working practices and culture. We believe that people who have lived experience of the challenges we seek to tackle are best placed to lead our organisation. As such, we would love to hear from you if you identify with or have lived experience as one or more of the following:

  • you are a person of colour
  • you are trans and/or non-binary
  • you live with a disability
  • you are living on a low-income or currently identify as working class
  • you are resident in Hackney

Trainee Community Music Leader

1 day a week for 6 months with 6 additional days for coaching and training (38 days in total) | £10.85/hour

We are looking for a Trainee Community Music Leader aged 18-30 to join our team for a 6-month supported work placement. This role will be supported by our Creative Director and will provide an opportunity to develop music-leading practice, learn about the process of designing and delivering music programmes, work directly with young people and their families, and build networking skills, knowledge and capacity to develop their future career.

The role will include mentoring, shadowing, coaching, training, on-the-job experience and the opportunity to lead their own projects. Through this role we aim to create additional space for youth voice within the GRL leadership team.

This role is funded by Youth Music.
